Foundation of the coat of arms: The community of Schillerslage has belonged to the Duchy of Lüneburg since the 15th century . The coat of arms adopted by the community is therefore strongly based on that of the dukes of Lüneburg. This reference is expressed by the golden coat of arms and the striding lion in the upper part of the coat of arms. The area of the community was given as a fief to the Lords of Escherde , who in turn had two keys in their coat of arms. The keys shown in the lower part of this coat of arms are intended to keep alive the memory of the probably first landlords of the community of Schillerslage.

Culture and sights

The post station at Amboßstrasse 10, which was set up in Schillerslage from 1784 onwards, was of supraregional importance until the post office was discontinued in 1860 due to increasing competition from the new Lehrte – Celle railway .

On March 29, 1787, the postman's son Philipp Carl Sprengel , who is considered the founder of the mineral theory, according to which nutrients removed from the soil are to be replaced, was born in this post office yard.

For 2004, Schillerslage was chosen as the “most beautiful village in the Hanover region”.

The place has become known far beyond the borders through the breeding of Hanoverian horses . In the season from February to June, nine stallions from the Celle State Stud are available to the breeders on the breeding site in Schillerslage. Schillerslage is known to horse lovers for its riding stables and boarding houses. Every two years the Schillerslage Riding Community organizes a large open-air tournament, which with more than 1,000 horses each becomes a national attraction.

Schillerslage is connected to Hanover and Celle by the B 3 , which used to run through the town . The town is relieved of through traffic by bypassing the town. In the course of the construction, a dense network of paths for cyclists and pedestrians was created around Schillerslage. The state road 383 also connects with Burgwedel in one direction and the city center of Burgdorf in the other direction.
