Weferlingsen ( Low German Wewwerlingsen ) is a village and district of Burgdorf in the Hanover region in Lower Saxony . It is about halfway between the town center of Burgdorf and the district of Ramlingen-Ehlershausen , near Otze.
history
Urn finds in 1953 near today's cemetery show that people lived here around 2500 years ago. The first documentary mention was made in 1277 in the input, output and interest register of the Dompropstei Hildesheim .
On March 1, 1974, Weferlingsen was incorporated into the town of Burgdorf.

| Justification of the coat of arms: The lion symbolizes the former jurisdiction of the free, which the municipality of Weferlingsen exercised together with eight other surrounding municipalities. We can already find the same lion in the coats of arms of the municipalities of Otze and Wettmar . The two ears of wheat should indicate that Weferlingsen has remained a pure farming village. The beehive is a reminder that, as a special branch of agriculture, beekeeping used to be practiced on a particularly large scale. |
Culture and sights
In the center there is an old oak tree . The center of the place is the village square "Brink", where festivals take place. The main festival is the annual village festival, combined with the Aue Cup, on the fourth weekend in August.

Economy and Infrastructure
The Weferlingsen volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1913. In 1959 a fire brigade competition group was formed with the Weferlingser women, which caused a sensation all over Germany. Invitations came from all over the world and radio and television reported nationwide about the women's group.
