Dachtmissen is a village and district of Burgdorf in the Hanover region in Lower Saxony .

geography

Through the site, the L311 from downtown transferred Sorgensen coming in a northeasterly direction to Uetzer neighboring Hänigsen . The Burgdorfer Aue flows west of the village .

history

Finds from the Stone Age found in the site , which are in the Lower Saxony State Museum , indicate the early presence of people in the area. Dachtmissen was first mentioned in a document around 1274.

In the course of the Hildesheim collegiate feud (1519–1523), over 50 villages in the Lüneburg region were completely burned down. No church was spared. Anton Scholand wrote in his "Contributions to the history of the city and the former office of Burgdorf":

Just as it was in Burgdorf, so too did the villages of Schillerslage, Otze, Ramlingen, Dachtmissen and many other localities. In the Lüneburg region alone, more than 50 villages were completely burned down in this feud. Before the people were put the red rooster on the roof, of course everything valuable was allowed to go with them from the houses.

Until the domain was dissolved in 1840, the place was an important focal point for the surrounding towns due to its manorial outwork . Dachtmissen was completely destroyed in the Thirty Years War . In 1641, 200 farmers from the area were killed by imperial troops here.

In the church book of Obershagen towards the end of the Thirty Years War, 1640, the following note can be found:

At that time, Dachtmissen was also set on fire on the side facing the Herrenwiesen, and all the houses and Scheuren, without 2 ovens, were laid in ashes. The outworks sampt the miller's two houses is saved from the fire.

In 1700 a house with outbuildings burned down due to the carelessness of a maid in the Vorwerk Dachtmissen.

On the night of October 6th to 7th, 1897, the community fire fighting team of Dachtmissen put out a fire in Mr. Kleine’s grain and sawmill, which consisted only of wood and half-timbered and burned down to the surrounding walls. The Burgdorfer Kreisblatt said about the extinguishing work : “The first fire-fighting train to arrive, the municipal sprayer from Sorgensen, could not begin because difficult tasks stood in its way. The Dachtmisser syringe with its crew had the task of protecting the isolated barn in order to prevent the glow of the flame from penetrating this side. "

On March 1, 1974, Dachtmissen was incorporated into the city of Burgdorf.

The approval of the coat of arms was granted on May 30, 1967 by the district president in Lüneburg.

Coat of arms of Dachtmissen
Blazon : "A silver unicorn in green , surrounded by seven golden , five-pointed stars ."
Justification of the coat of arms: The mythical creature , the unicorn, shown in silver in the coat of arms , is the symbol for the partly unexplored history from the early days of the community. The green color of the coat of arms is intended to express the peasantry and the forests and fields. The seven five-pointed stars are arranged almost according to the constellation Orion (the star of the hunters). They indicate the large hunting area that extends as far as the village.
