Anton Scholand

Anton Scholand (born August 21, 1890 in Giershagen , † August 23, 1973 in Misburg ) was a German headmaster, local researcher , archaeologist , non-fiction author and collector of field names .

Life

The in Sauerland born Anton Scholand received after the First World War at the time of the Weimar Republic in 1919, a position as a teacher in the village Misburg that only in 1974 by Hannover incorporated was.

At the time of National Socialism , Scholand had put together an extensive collection of field names by 1937 and a few years later - in the middle of World War II - in 1941 he was awarded the title of "Specialist in field name matters" from the Hanoverian Heimatfreunde .

The local researcher was posthumously honored in 1975 with the renaming of Fichtestrasse (from 1968 named after the philosopher Johann Gottlieb Fichte ) to Scholandstrasse .
