The approval of the coat of arms was granted on May 13, 1969 by the district president in Lüneburg.

Aligse coat of arms
Blazon : "The coat of arms showsa silver rafter in blue over a silver wheel cross ."
Justification for the coat of arms: The rafter in the blue field is intended to symbolize the traffic arteries, the main road and the railway line. The wheel cross is one of the oldest symbols and can be found as early as the Stone Age . Even today it is the custom to wrap four-spoke wheels with straw on the eve of big festivals and let them roll from the mountains to the valley while burning. This symbol is also often carved into the jibs and spars of the half-timbered houses, so it was and remained an important symbol for the ancestors. At the same time, the wheel cross is the symbol of the rule of God and the divine order in the world. In addition, all the facts of this world can be read from the cross: the work of the four basic elements, the four cardinal points, the four seasons and so on.
