Blasonierung : "In red  : silver split shield an obliquely right asked , siebensprossige conductor in confused colors beseitet of a trifoliate Birkenreis and the inturned crookedness of a bishop rod ."
Justification of the coat of arms: In the coat of arms of Barrigsen the coat of arms of the noble family "von Barrigsen", named after the place, comes to life again, is accompanied by the birch rice, which refers to the place name. The tithing obligation of the residents, which existed until the replacement in the 19th century - which included further duties and burdens in earlier times - is intended to symbolize the bishop's staff.
