Foundation of the coat of arms: Kirchdorf, named "Chirihdorf" in a document in 892, which is interpreted as "Dorf bei der Malstatt" (= area around the sacred tree), is one of the oldest villages on the Deister. In the right part of the coat of arms the chalice symbolizes the church and parish attested very early , the red fortress tower is taken from the coat of arms of the gentlemen "von Goltern" who were the founders and patrons of the church. The fortress tower can be found in interchanged colors in the coat of arms of the former municipality of Goltern and the Barsinghausen district of Großgoltern . |
