Coat of arms of Thönse
Blazon : " Divided by green and silver , above a growing , golden lion , below two goldenbull horns with black forehead hair on top of each other."
Justification of the coat of arms: The lion symbolizes the former jurisdiction of the free, which the municipality Thönse previously exercised together with eight other surrounding municipalities. We can already find the same lion in the coats of arms of the municipalities of Otze and Wettmar . The two bull horns remind us that in Thönse a special type of bull licensing, the so-called bull pushing, was regularly carried out in the past.
