Heiðmar Vilhjálmur Felixson ([ 'hɛɪ̯ðmar̩ vɪlˈçau̯lmʏr̩' fɛlɪxsɔn ]; * February 4, 1977 in Árskógsströnd , Kálfskinn , Iceland ) is a 1.90 m tall Icelandic handball coach and former national handball player of Iceland, who was mostly used in the right back area.
Career
Heiðmar Felixson started playing handball at the club Þór (Thor). In 1995 he moved to Ka, where he won the Icelandic Cup in 1996. In 1997 he was hired by Stjarnan before joining HC Wuppertal in the German handball league in 1999 . When he was relegated with the men from Bergisches Land in 2001, however, he returned to Iceland, where he was again hired by Ka and won the Icelandic championship in 2002. After only one year he moved again to mainland Europe, this time to Bidasoa Irún in the Spanish ASOBAL league . He stayed there for two years before joining the German regional division TSV Hannover-Burgdorf in 2004 . With this team he rose in 2005 to the 2nd handball Bundesliga . In the 2008/09 season Heiðmar Felixson rose with the Burgdorfern in the handball Bundesliga. He had previously announced his move to TuS N-Lübbecke . There, for private reasons, he dissolved his contract, which ran until 2011, on June 30, 2010 with the approval of the club's management. He then became a player-coach at TS Großburgwedel . As the Lower Saxony champions 2011 (league leader in the league), TS Großburgwedel rose to the 3rd division. From May 2011, Heiðmar Felixson was eligible to play as a football player at SV Ramlingen / Ehlershausen and was successful as a goal scorer.
Heiðmar Felixson has been working as youth coordinator at TSV Burgdorf since the 2012/13 season . He played handball in the second team until June 2014. In the 2013/14 season he temporarily played a few games for the warriors in the 1st Bundesliga. Since the 2014/15 season he has been coaching TSV Burgdorf, which plays in the third division .
Heiðmar Felixson has played 55 international matches for the Icelandic national team .

Heiðmar Felixson has four children. On April 3, 2010, he married a German teacher in Burgdorf.
