history

The football roots of the Burgdorfer lie with Viktoria Burgdorf. After two district championships in a row, in 1922 they were promoted to the then first-class southern district league, from which the team promptly relegated as the knocked-down bottom of the table. After the end of the Second World War , the Burgdorfers were founding members of the third-class amateur league in Hanover in 1949 and were relegated as the penultimate. Four years later, TSV returned to the amateur league when the Heide season was recreated. There, from 1955 to 1957, the Burgdorf team became runner-up three times in a row behind 1. FC Wolfsburg , SC Uelzen 09 and the amateurs of VfL Wolfsburg .

At the same time, the club's A-Juniors were successful and won the Lower Saxony Cup in 1957 and 1958. The first team, however, sank in the middle and missed the qualification for the newly created association league in 1964 . Two years later, he was relegated to the district class. It wasn't until the early 1970s that things started to improve again. In 1973 he was promoted to the Heide district league . At the same time, the club caused a sensation in the cup. With a 3-0 win over the club division Rot-Weiß Scheeßel , the Burgdorf team won the Lower Saxony Cup and qualified for the North German Cup .

In the very first round, the team scored 4-4 after extra time against regional league club VfL Wolfsburg and finally won 5-3 on penalties . In round two, TSV was about to get another surprise and forced the regional division HSV Barmbek-Uhlenhorst into overtime with a 3: 3 after 90 minutes. There, however, the Burgdorfers ran out of steam, so that the guests won 9: 3 in the end. Two years later the team was transferred to the Hanover District League .

In the 1975/76 season, the Burgdorfer fought a long head-to-head race for the championship with TSV Havelse . The preliminary decision was made after a 3-0 victory by Havelse in front of 4,000 spectators in Burgdorf. A year later, the TSV rose to the association league and qualified in 1979 with a 2-0 play-off victory over the Hanover Police Sports Club for the newly created two-track state league . From this, the TSV rose two years later and returned in 1983 for three years. Two relegations in a row brought the club back into the district class in 1989, before being promoted back to the district league in 1995.

In 2001 the Burgdorfer had to go back down to the district class, where they were able to get up again. In 2006, TSV became district league champions under coach Peter Hayduk and made it to the Hanover regional league , which was renamed the Hanover regional league four years later . In 2012, the Burgdorf runners-up behind 1. FC Germania Egestorf / Langreder , but renounced the promotion to the Lower Saxony Oberliga in favor of SV Bavenstedt . A year later, the TSV footballers were runner-up again, this time behind 1. FC Wunstorf .
