Amateur League Lower Saxony

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Lower Saxony amateur league was - under this and / or other names - from 1949 to 1964, the second highest division in Lower Saxony football. The league, organized by the Lower Saxony Football Association , was at the third highest level in the German league system until 1963, and at the fourth highest level in the last season.

history

The Lower Saxony amateur league was introduced in 1949 as a substructure for the two-track Lower Lower Saxony amateur league . Sometimes the amateur league was also referred to as the association league . Initially, the amateur league consisted of five seasons. In 1950, 1953 and 1956 a further season was added. The champions of the amateur league relays determined the promoted to the amateur league in a promotion round. After there were eight amateur leagues, the champions of seasons 1, 2, 6 and 8 determined the promoted to the amateur upper league West and the masters of seasons 3, 4, 5 and 7 the promoted to the amateur upper league east.

Below the amateur leagues there were two to four district classes. The rise to the amateur league took place either through direct promotion or through promotion rounds. With the league reform in 1964, the amateur leagues were abolished and replaced by eight district leagues.
