The SV Borussia 06 Hildesheim was a sports club from Hildesheim . The first soccer team played for nine years in the highest amateur league in Lower Saxony .

history

Borussia was created in 1946 through the merger of RSV Hildesheim with Reichsbahn-SG Hildesheim to form RSV Borussia 06 Hildesheim . Two years later, the railroad workers split off again and RSV Borussia became SV Borussia. In the same year, he was promoted to the second-class state league Hildesheim , where it was only enough for last place. From 1949 Borussia played in the third-class amateur league 5 .

During the 1951/52 season, the club moved into the sports field on Lucienvörder Allee and won the championship at the end of the season. In the following round of promotion, Borussia prevailed and made it to the amateur league Lower Saxony- East. There the team met local rivals VfV Hildesheim , from whose shadow he should not come out. In the 1953/54 season, Borussia achieved the best placement with fifth place. Two years later, the team stood in front of VfV for the last time.

In 1960 the Hildesheimers had to relegate from the amateur league after they had lost in the relegation against the amateurs of Eintracht Braunschweig and Sportfreunde Ricklingen . A year later, the team was passed into the district class. It was not until 1970 that a renaissance was achieved with promotion to the district league. In 1981 he was promoted to the Hanover regional league before a sporting decline began in the late 1980s.

After two relegations in a row, Borussia arrived in the Hildesheim district league in 1995 . After the direct resurgence, the team stayed in the district class until 2000. In 2003 the sporting low point was reached with the descent from the district league. On July 1, 2003, Borussia merged with the football department of VfV Hildesheim to form VfV Borussia 06 Hildesheim .
