Eintracht Lüneburg is a sports club from the Lüneburg district of Häcklingen . The first soccer team played for three years in the highest amateur league in Lower Saxony.

history

The Eintracht goes back to the on August 18, 1903 founded FC Favorite Lüneburg , which two years later merged with the FC Hansa Lüneburg to SV Eintracht Lüneburg .

In 1917, Eintracht reached the final for the championship of North Hanover, which was lost 0: 1 against Turf Sport Harburg . Ten years later they were promoted to the Northern Hanover District League , before Eintracht was accepted into the first-class Oberliga Nordhannover in 1929 . When the National Socialists came to power , Eintracht was divided into the second-class district class. The home ground Hasenburg has meanwhile been renamed Hermann-Göring-Platz . After a temporary descent into the third division, Eintracht reached the Gauliga Osthannover in 1944 . The 1944/45 season was canceled due to the war .

After the war, Eintracht switched to the game operations of the Hamburg Football Association and in 1948 made it unbeaten to the Elbe Association League . When the two league seasons were combined into one in 1950, the Lüneburgers had to relegate. Seven years later, Eintracht moved back to Lower Saxony and was divided into the Amateur League 7 , whose champions they were in 1962. In the following promotion round, the team made the promotion after a 2-1 win over the Goslarer SC 08 perfect. For the first time after the Second World War, Eintracht was number one in the city.

In 1964, the team qualified due to the better goal quotient compared to Wolfenbütteler SV for the single-track Lower Saxony State League , from which they had to relegate after one season. Three years later, he was relegated from the Association League East , to which he could return in 1969. In 1979 the state league was missed, whereupon Hans-Jürgen Hellfritz took over the coaching office. In 1982 this led Eintracht to the national league.

The Lüneburgers then developed into an elevator team between the state and district leagues. In the 1994/95 season, the team again reached the Lower Saxony League East , from which they had to relegate as the penultimate. A year later, Eintracht also rose from the regional league. The first team has played in the Lüneburg regional league since its promotion in 2005 .

With Christine Lindemann , Eintracht also produced a German national handball player .
