The TuS Einswarden was a sports club from Nordenham in Wesermarsch . The first soccer team played for a year in the highest amateur league in Lower Saxony .

history

The association was formed in 1921 as a spin-off from the Vorwärts Einswarden association . The soccer team took part in the games of the Workers' Gymnastics and Sports Association (ATSB). After the National Socialists came to power in 1921, TuS was banned. The members joined the Blexer Turnerbund . From the end of 1944, a war syndicate was formed with SC Nordenham . After the end of the Second World War , TuS Einswarden was re-established.

As the champion of the district class Oldenburg-Nord , TuS rose to the then second-class Landesliga Weser / Ems in 1947 , but had to relegate after a year as the penultimate. In 1950, the team rose to the third class amateur league 1 and became a top team there. In 1958 the TuS was runner-up behind Frisia Wilhelmshaven and celebrated the championship a year later. In the promotion round to the Lower Saxony amateur league, however, the team failed due to Eintracht Cuxhaven , the amateurs of Hannover 96 and TuS Haste 01 .

In 1964, the Einswarder qualified for the newly created Association League North . Since three teams from the region were relegated to the Verbandsliga Nord, the TuS had to relegate third from bottom. After the direct resurgence, the team immediately became champions, but failed in the promotion round to the Lower Saxony state league due to the amateurs of VfL Osnabrück and Lower Saxony Döhren .

In 1973 TuS was relegated from the association league and never got beyond the district level again. Twenty years later, the club took up merger talks with SV Nordenham and TSV Abbehausen . Finally, the TuS merged in 1994 with the soccer department of SV Nordenham to form 1. FC Nordenham .
