The VfB Fallersleben is a sports club from Wolfsburg district Fallersleben . The first soccer team played for seven years in the highest amateur league in Lower Saxony.

history

The club was founded in 1861 as MTV Fallersleben and is one of the oldest gymnastics clubs in Germany. In April 1921 a game department was founded at MTV. The SV Fallersleben was founded on April 2, 1920 and joined the MTV on May 18, 1923. After the Second World War , the MTV was dissolved. Today's VfB Fallersleben was founded on August 2, 1945 and has more than 3000 members in 14 departments.

The footballers were among the founding members of Amateur League 7 in 1953 and secured the first championship. In the following round of promotion, he was promoted to the amateur league Lower Saxony East. In the first two years, VfB was only just able to save itself from relegation as third-last, before reaching tenth place in 1957 and 1958. In 1959 VfB had to relegate after a 3-1 defeat in the decider against SVG Göttingen 07 . After several years in the midfield of the amateur league, VfB qualified in 1964 as runner-up behind SC Uelzen 09 for the newly created Association League East , from which the team was relegated in 1966.

In the 1990s, VfB experienced a sporting renaissance. In 1993 Michael Geiger took over as coach and two years later led his team to the Braunschweig regional league . In 2004 VfB was runner-up only because of the poorer goal difference compared to TSV Helmstedt . Two years later, the team finally became champions and rose to the Lower Saxony League East . For two years, the VfB stayed in the Upper House of Lower Saxony. In 2011, the Fallersleben team were relegated from the regional league until they were promoted again on May 18, 2014 with a 2-0 win against SV Sprakensehl .

After a chaotic year with four coaches, a complete upheaval in the team and in the football division, VfB had to relegate back to the district league in summer 2015, where VfB was then passed straight through to the district league. In the summer of 2019, the VfB succeeded in returning to the district after three years of abstinence.
