The SV Anhalt-Bernburg eV is a sports club from Bernburg in Saxony-Anhalt . The club was founded in 1951, until it was renamed in 1995, its name was SV Motor Bernburg . The club has specialized in handball and bowling .
After the reunification in the GDR and the reunification , the men's team of the SVA played in the 1991/92 season in the 2nd handball league , in which they reached the penultimate place in the middle season and were relegated to the regional handball league. In 2001 he was promoted again as champions of the Middle Regional League. In 2009 , after losing relegation , the club was determined to be relegated, but remained in the second division, since otherwise the so-called standard strength (18 clubs per league) would have been undercut because SG Wallau and HR Ortenau did not apply for a license or forfeited qualifications due to insolvency had. A year later, the club then rose from bottom of the table in the newly founded 3rd division , where he has been playing since then.
