Empelde is the northern and largest district of Ronnenberg and borders on the southwest of Hanover .
history
Empelde was mentioned between 826 and 876 as "Amplidi / Amplithi". "Amplidi" is secured for the first time for the year 840 in a document by Ludwig the German . In the Middle Ages, the place developed into a clustered village .
Johann Egestorff built a brickworks in Empelde in 1831. His son Georg Egestorff founded an iron foundry and machine factory in Linden near Hanover in 1835, which later became Hanomag , one of Hanover's largest industrial companies. For clay pigeon shooting , Georg Egestorff had the Linden primer and pottery factory built on Lindener Berg in 1861 . The Egestorffsche Zündhütchenfabrik was before the First World War by Empelde on an open field next to the railway line Hannover-Altenbeken laid, the current area of "living park at sea." Production, which was discontinued in 1928, was resumed in 1938 as part of the armament of the Wehrmacht by the new owner Dynamit AG , formerly Alfred Nobel & Co ( DAG for short ). After the war ended in 1945, various companies, including Telefunken , used the buildings and barracks on the site. In the 1980s, today's development with residential houses finally took place.
The site is still characterized today by the residue dump of the "Hansa-Silberberg" potash plant , which produced from 1894 to 1973 and employed more than 1000 people in the 1950s.
Through the merger of Empelde with Ronnenberg and the surrounding communities Benthe, Linderte, Vörie and Weetzen, the new community Ronnenberg was created on July 1, 1969. On March 1, 1974, her Ihme-Roloven was incorporated. On December 12, 1975, the new municipality of Ronnenberg received city rights.
religion
The Evangelical Lutheran St. John's Church is on Hallerstrasse; it was built in 1963/64. The previously used chapel on Stillen Straße has served as a district library since the church was inaugurated. The parish , which also has a kindergarten, belongs to the Ronnenberg parish in the Hanover district .
The Catholic Church Holy Family was profaned in 2016 . The church on Berliner Strasse was built in 1959/60 and, together with the former parish of the Holy Family, had belonged to the parish of St. Maximilian Kolbe in Hanover- Mühlenberg since 2002 . The "Holy Family" congregation exists today as a "parish" in the parish of St. Maximilan Kolbe . Their services are held in the Evangelical Lutheran St. John's Church.
The Turkish-Islamic community in Ronnenberg has its seat in Empelde.

Culture and sights

- The potash dump is the world's first example of a commercially viable renaturation project of this kind. The dump is covered with rubble and earth and then planted in various ways. On the occasional opening days, in addition to leisure activities, it also offers space for art and cultural events.
- A four kilometer long landscape art path connects the "Kaliberg" with the Benther Berg
- The Busse stone with its weathered inscription tells the story of the royal court hunter Wilhelm Busse, who was murdered by poachers on May 5, 1842 while exercising his service. The stone has been moved several times in the meantime, but is now back at the historical place of the event on a plateau. The place is where the south and west sides of the potash heap meet.
- The Empelde open-air swimming pool, which was built in the 1930s, is located at the foot of the potash dump.
