Ernst-Georg Hüper

Ernst-Georg "Egon" Hüper (born May 20, 1926 in Empelde ; † January 24, 1993 ibid) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending elementary and business school, Hüper trained as a typesetter. He then did military service and took part in the Second World War as an officer . After the end of the war he initially worked as a publishing clerk and then worked as an editor for the Hanover press . In the 1970s and 1980s he acted as managing director of the Lower Saxony bathing company mbH (NBG). In addition, he was managing director of the Nordsee-Spielbanken Norderney / Borkum and managing director of the Nordseeklinik Norderney.

Political party

Hüper joined the SPD in 1948. For many years he was chairman of the Young Socialists and a member of the SPD sub-district executive committee, the district advisory board and the state committee.

Hüper had been a council member of the city ​​of Ronnenberg since 1956 and was temporarily mayor. He was elected to the district council of Hanover in 1961. He was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament from 1963 to 1978. Between June 18, 1970 and June 20, 1978 he was deputy chairman of the SPD parliamentary group.
