Gottfried Kalle Kalkowski (born January 20, 1950 in Berlin ) is a German rock singer and drummer .

Life

Gottfried Kalkowski grew up in Neukölln . He is a trained painter. He works in this profession when the music does not generate sufficient income.

His first band in Berlin-Neukölln was "The Urchins" in 1966. Afterwards Kalkowski was the drummer for "The Sreaming Butlers", later for "The Outs", which played mainly in the youth homes in Berlin. After a break as a family man, he founded the band "Röxenon" in 1974, in which he played drums and sang. In 1980 he joined the “Bleibtreu Revue” and replaced the retired drummer Norbert Wegener.

Kalkowski's acquaintance with Leo Lehr ( Curly Curve , Berlin Bar Band, Interzone ) led to the first productions under his own name and with him as a singer. The first long-playing record was Tief aus'm Bauch , producers were Achim Reichel and Stefan Waggershausen . Later, the LP Sturm was made with Phil May from Pretty Things as a guest. Bertram Engel was on the drums . In 1987, a composition became the title song for the episode An Unforgettable Night of the TV series SOKO 5113 . 1990 followed a tour together with Keimzeit .

After five years with the record company BMG Ariola, he switched to Koch International . Two singles were produced in Vienna with Peter Wucsits.

Kalkowski single-handedly recorded 13 songs from the early days of the Rolling Stones with German lyrics and then founded "Irre Mama" with the line-up Gottfried Kalkowski (vocals and guitar), Thomas Wendel (guitar), Michael Westphal (bass), Ronald Bosien (drums) ). This was followed in Michael Sauber's studio by the album Harte Zeiten habenzeichen with Kalkowski (vocals, guitar and drums), Michael Schirmer ( Feeling B , guitar), Pad Schneider (Die Fuffziger, guitar), Hannes Richter (No 55, keyboard), Daniel Spülbeck (bass).

Because their own compositions did not meet with a great response, "Die Elektroman Männerwelt" was founded, with Jimi Hendrix adding German text to the titles . Kalkowski sang and played the drums, Michael Schirmer played the guitar, Michael Westphal the bass. The rhythm and blues association “Rebel Yell” was also founded. In 2006, Kalkowski founded the Rebel Rogue Music Edition label. A first single was released under the name Westberlin , in 2008 the album Niemandslandrevier . With the single Neukölln, Du alte Hure , Kalkowski won the competition “our song for Neukölln” on July 30, 2010 in the home port of Neukölln .
