Morten Harry Olsen

Morten Harry Olsen (born August 15, 1960 in Narvik ) is a Norwegian author. Olsen's first book was published in 1985, the short story collection For alt hva vi er verdt , with which he won Tarjei Vesaas' debutant prize.

Career

Olsen studied criminology at the University of Oslo and philosophy at the University of Tromsø . He worked as a tour operator, taxi driver, night porter, journalist, translator, literary critic, educational advisor and teacher. He was chairman of the Norwegian author Center Norsk Forfattersentrum (1989-91), Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the Brageprisen (1991-95) and deputy chairman of the Norwegian Writers Association Den norske Forfatterforening (1997-98). From 1988 to 1991 he was a member of the Norwegian Authors' Union's Literary Caucus . 1992–1996 he was the editor of the book club Bokklubben krim og spenning.
