Morten Helveg Petersen (born September 14, 1966 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish politician of the Radical Venstre .

Life

Morten Helveg Petersen followed in the footsteps of his father, the Danish politician Niels Helveg Petersen ; his brother Rasmus Helveg Petersen also became a politician.

Morten Helveg Petersen studied economics at the University of Copenhagen . From 1992 to 1993 he worked for the European Commission , and from 1993 to 1998 he worked for the employers' association Dansk Industri (DI, German Danish Industry). From 1998 to 2009 Helveg Petersen was a member of the Folketing .

Petersen has been a Member of the European Parliament since 2014 as a member of the Group of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe . He is Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy in the European Parliament and a member of the Delegation for relations with Japan .
