The mosque Nemezis is a Sunni - mosque in the village Nemezis in the Vilnius District Municipality , Lithuania . It is headed by an imam living in Vilnius , while his deputy is based locally in Nemėžis.

history

In 1684 there was a wooden mosque with a turret, but it was burned down. In 1909 today's mosque was built. The project author was engineer A. Sonin. A camp was set up here during the Soviet era . In principle, prayers are only offered on Fridays at the new moon , in which only a few people participate. More popularity is certain on holidays. Occasionally Arabs take part.
