Mosque of ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀs
Mosque of ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀs ( Arabic جامع عمرو بن العاص, DMG Ǧāmiʿ ʿAmr b. al-ʿĀṣ ) is the name of two mosques in Egypt that were built under ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀs in the same year 642/643 (22 AH ):
- Mosque of ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀs in Cairo is located in the al-Fustat district and is the oldest mosque in Egypt and Africa.
- Mosque of ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀs in Damiette is the second oldest mosque in Egypt and Africa.
