Ben Zion Dinur
Ben-Zion Dinur ( Hebrew בן ציון דינור, Russian Бенцион Динабург ‚Benzion Dinaburg ' ; * January 2nd jul. / January 14, 1884 greg. in Chorol , Poltava Governorate , Russian Empire ; † July 8, 1973 in Jerusalem ) was an Israeli historian and politician.
He was a member of the first Knesset and from 1951 to 1955 Minister of Education in the cabinet under David Ben-Gurion .
He received the Israel Prize, which he himself initiated and founded in 1953, twice : in 1958 in the Jewish Studies category and in 1973 in the Education category .
