The Moseley Railway Trust (MRT) is a collection of British narrow-gauge railway locomotives and wagons. Originally exhibited in Manchester , it has since moved to the Apedale Community Country Park near Newcastle-under-Lyme in Staffordshire , where the Apedale Valley Light Railway and a railway museum have been established next to the Apedale Heritage Center.
history
The first construction phase of the narrow-gauge railway with a gauge (track) of 610 mm (2 feet ) was officially put into operation for passenger traffic in July 2010. The plans for a large new museum building were approved by the local council so that construction could begin in 2011.
A railroad line is planned to be built along the boundary of the MRT and Apedale Heritage Center property, with a branch to Adit No 7, a rebuilt mine shaft that the Aurora Mining Company operated until 1996.
overview
From 1998 to 2007, the Trust's collection was mothballed in a warehouse after the Trust had to leave the Cheadle near Manchester site , where it operated the 610mm Moseley Tramway with its narrow-gauge locomotives. In 2007 the collection was expanded with the acquisition of several vehicles from the former Cadeby Rectory Railway , which were brought to Apedale.
In addition to the museum, the construction of a route for freight traffic is planned in order to be able to put the numerous collection items into operation.

The Apedale Valley Light Railway is also home to the Trust's collection of approximately 60 gasoline and diesel narrow-gauge locomotives. There are also four internal combustion engine locomotives at the Apedale Heritage Center.
