from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Moses Joseph Büding (* 1748/1749 in Büdingen ; † August 20, 1811 in Kassel ) was the founder of the banking house "MJ Büding" at Königstrasse 151 in Kassel and an Oberhof agent in Kassel (from 1801).

Life

Moses Büding, the son of the later Kassel banker Joseph Abraham Benjamin Büding, came from Büdingen around 1772 - probably together with his father, since both are named in Kassel after their place of origin .

On August 22, 1801 he was appointed court and chamber agent and on October 6, 1801, after the death of Feidel David , he was appointed as his successor to the court and chamber agent, for which he donated 100 ducats to the Kassel Untereustädter church and civil widow Institute had to pay. Around 1803 he was considered the richest man in the city of Kassel, at least he paid most of the taxes. In 1811 he owned house No. 388 on Johannisstrasse (Marktgasse).

He married Miriam (Marianne) Gans in Kassel around 1780 (* July 1752 in Kassel; † June 30, 1832 there), the sister of the banker Aron Gans in Kassel.
