Mosolf is a German company that specializes in automotive logistics and is based in Kirchheim unter Teck .

The original activity of the company is the intermodal transport of vehicles using its own fleet of 1000 trucks , 350 double-decker wagons and two RoRo inland vessels . Mosolf maintains 100 special vehicles, in particular for the transport of heavy agricultural and construction machinery, light commercial vehicles and buses. In 2017, Mosolf generated around 50% of its sales with pure transport (171 of 335 million euros).

A smaller part of the turnover was accounted for by warehousing, handling and ancillary services. The "Technology" division achieved sales of around 100 million euros, including workshop services for automobiles and vehicle conversions. Mosolf produces around 1900 special vehicles for emergency services per year. For example, command, group and command vehicles as well as test vehicles and hazardous goods transport vehicles are supplied.

history

Horst Mosolf Spedition und Transporte was founded in 1955 by Horst Mosolf in Kirchheim unter Teck. The company's first branches were set up in Antwerp in 1963 and in Illingen in 1972 . There is still a large transshipment point for vehicles in Illingen today. In the 1990s, the company's logistics network was expanded primarily in Central Europe, particularly in the former GDR, Poland and the Czech Republic. Company founder Horst Mosolf died in 2015 and was posthumously inducted into the Logistics Hall of Fame .
