Motelsoft

Motelsoft was one of the first German developers of computer games . The work comprises around 110 games that were created over a period of 32 years; mostly puzzle games, role playing and action adventures, including the strategic adventure The island and the RPG trilogy Dark Side of the Sun . Some were free games, some were commercial publications by publishers such as CDV , SAD / Purple Hills and Kelly Media.

history

The two founders, Harald Breitmaier and Heinz Munter, wrote their first programs in BASIC and later Assembler for the Atari XL / XE and from 1987 for the Atari ST from around 1985 . In 1990 they founded Breitmaier & Munter GbR , which developed games for the Atari ST under the labels Softwave Games and Motelsoft . In 1993 he switched to the PC and all games have since been written in C / C ++. Since the late 1990s, many games have also been developed using the 3D GameStudio tool . In 2007 the company was closed. Small games continued to appear under the Motelsoft label until 2017. All games are available free of charge on Motelsoft's website.

From 2006 to 2016, Harald Breitmaier created digital comic stories with Toni Roco .

The website has been operated as an archive by the House of Computer Games since November 2018 .
