Motionmania

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Motionmania is a German music band from Duisburg in the genre of electronic music or instrumental music . It consists of the two musicians Erich Schauder and Ralf Veith.

General

The Duo Motionmania, founded in 1990, is known in the German electronics scene for its style of music, which contains clear allusions to the electronics pioneers Tangerine Dream and Klaus Schulze and can therefore be assigned to the classical Berlin school , although many of the pieces "only" are about 4–6 minutes long and are therefore significantly shorter than is typically the case in the Berlin school. The first Motionmania album Esc-Rave , the name of which was derived from the initials of the two musicians, was released in 1992. This was followed within a few years not only by further publications, but also several appearances in radio broadcasts (including vibrations ) and live performances. The most famous live concert of Motionmania was the appearance at the Vibrations Festival in the Landscape Park Duisburg-Nord on May 17, 1997, at which Klaus Schulze also played and recorded his album Dosburg Online . After 1997, motionmania was quiet for almost ten years, and it wasn't until the end of 2006 that the band returned with a new double album.
