Motodix (colloquially also known as Bärendreck , Bärenscheiße, etc.) is the trade name of a sealant from the GDR , which was primarily used for vehicle parts and internal combustion engines . The slang terms were inspired by the appearance and mechanical properties of the material. The compound was sold as "engine quick seal compound" in wide-necked bottles. Motodix hardens in the air, but can be dissolved with alcohol . According to the nature of the cured material, it was apparently a mixture of resins and organic solvents.
