Motoi Ōkoshi

Motoi Ōkoshi ( Japanese 大 越 基 , Ōkoshi Motoi ; born May 20, 1971 in Shichigahama , Miyagi ) is a former Japanese baseball player . The right throwing and hitting outfielder played between 1993 and 2003 for the Fukuoka Daiei Hawks in the Japanese professional league .

Ōkoshi took part in the third year of his high school as a top pitcher of the Sendai Ikuei Gakuen High School in both Kōshien tournaments. In 1992 he was in the first round of the Hawks ge draftet . It was only in 1994 that he made his first 13 professional appearances as a pitcher, one of them as a starter. In 1996 Ōkoshi moved to the outfield, but was only used more often from 1999 due to injuries. After the 2003 season Ōkoshi ended his career, in which he had achieved a batting average of .237 in a total of 365 missions.
