The Motor Technica Museum Bad Oeynhausen was a privately run automobile and aviation museum in the spa town of Bad Oeynhausen between the Bad Oeynhausen motorway junction and the Weser in the Rehme district . The museum area consists of several exhibition halls and an outdoor area, part of which extends along Weserstrasse. The outside area leaves the impression of randomly merged militaria from former Eastern Bloc holdings. The museum was advertised for tourism by the city and there are still signs to get there today.

history

The site, which was founded in 1973 as a car and motorcycle museum and is still known by this name today, was closed in 2007. For a long time there was no information about the continuation of the exhibition or efforts to reopen it. In August 2016 it was announced that all remaining vehicles would be removed by the end of the year.

Some of the exhibits in the outdoor area and along the street are freely accessible or can be viewed from a short distance. The vehicles and aircraft exhibited outdoors are exposed to the weather. There are u. a. an "aerial aircraft " from the 1930s, militaria ( MiG-21 , helicopters, tanks), a London double deck bus and old rail vehicles.

The automobile show in the halls comprised around 100 vehicles from the beginnings to small vehicles from the 1950s and 60s.

The liquidation of the holdings was not completed until the end of 2017.
