The Moulin Mattei (from the French Moulin = mill) is an old windmill on the Mediterranean island of Corsica . It is located in the municipality of Ersa at the northwest end of the Cap Corse on the road between Botticella and Centuri-Port and stands on a hill (the Col de la Serra - 365 m) with a beautiful view. The mill is easy to reach for tourists (parking lot below). Moulin Mattei was bought by the Mattei family from Bastia (descendants of Louis Napoléon Mattei from Ersa) and serves as an opportunity for them to advertise their “Cap Corse” aperitif. Since April 2004 the mill has been completely restored including the roof that was previously destroyed. A spur road also led from the mill to Pointe de Torricella (562 m), on which several wind turbines are today.
