The Mount Irízar is a mountain on Deception Iceland in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands .
The name is said to go back to Russian scientists. More likely, however, is a naming by Argentine scientists after Julián Irízar (1869-1935), captain of the Argentine corvette Uruguay , which was used in the rescue of the stranded participants in the Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1901-1903).
