José Luís Mendes Andrade (born January 24, 1991 in Fogo , Cape Verde ), also known as Zé Luís , is a Cape Verdean football player who plays as a striker for FC Porto .

Career

society

He began his career as a professional footballer with Gil Vicente F C. In the Liga Orangina 2010/11 he was able to achieve promotion to the Primeira Liga with his team , which he could contribute with 10 goals. Shortly thereafter, he signed a contract with Sporting Braga. There he first played for the B-Team and was loaned to his former club Gil Vicente for three months in 2012 and to Videoton FC in Hungary for a full season in 2013 . He achieved his breakthrough at Braga in the 2014/15 season when he scored a hat trick in the Taca de Portugal semi-finals against Rio Ave FC .

On July 7, 2015, Zé Luís signed a contract with Spartak Moscow in the Russian Premier League . He made his league debut on July 17, 2015 against FK Ufa and scored his first goal for Spartak in the same game. With the Muscovites he was one of the most important players on the offensive. In the 2016/17 season he was able to win the Russian championship with Spartak, to which he contributed with 5 goals in 21 league games.

He signed a four-year contract with FC Porto on July 5, 2019.

National team

Zé Luís made his debut for Cape Verde on May 24, 2010, playing a minute in a friendly against Portugal in Covilhã . He was nominated for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations squad, but did not take part for personal reasons.

Zé Luís scored his first goal for the national team in a 3-1 win against Niger on September 6, 2014 .
