Sérgio Miguel Relvas de Oliveira (born June 2, 1992 in Paços de Brandão ) is a Portuguese football player .

Career

In the club

Sérgio Oliveira joined the youth team at FC Porto in 2002 at the age of ten . On October 17, 2009, at the age of 17 years, 4 months and 15 days, he became the youngest player in the club's history to be used in a competitive game as part of a 4-0 cup win. A month later he signed his first professional contract with a term until June 2012.

For the 2010/11 season Oliveira was loaned to first division competitor SC Beira-Mar . On October 23, 2010, he made his debut in the Primeira Liga . In the summer of 2011, it joined the Belgian first division club KV Mechelen on loan . During the winter break he returned to Portugal and played in the course of another loan deal for the second division club FC Penafiel . Between 2013 and 2015 he gained further top division experience at FC Paços de Ferreira . After playing a few games for FC Porto in the meantime, he was awarded again to the French first division club FC Nantes during the winter break of the 2016/17 season . For the 2017/18 season he returned to FC Porto and won the Portuguese championship. In January 2019 he was loaned to PAOK Thessaloniki .

In the national team

Oliveira went through the Portuguese junior national teams. With the U-19 selection , he took part in the U-19 European Championship in 2010 and was elected to the team of the tournament . At the U-20 World Cup in 2011 , he was runner- up with the U-20 national team . At the U-21 European Championship in 2015 , he was the team captain of the U-21 selection and again achieved second place.

In June 2018 Oliveira was appointed to the provisional 35-man squad for the 2018 World Cup by national coach Fernando Santos , but was subsequently not accepted into the tournament squad. On September 6, 2018, he made his debut in a friendly against Croatia as a substitute for the senior national team .
