Fábio Daniel Soares Silva (born July 19, 2002 in Gondomar ) is a Portuguese soccer player who is currently under contract with the first division club FC Porto . He occupies the position of striker both in the club and in the Portuguese U19 national team .
Career
society
Silva joined the FC Porto youth team in 2010 . After two years in the academy of rival Benfica Lisbon , he returned to Porto's youth department in summer 2015. There he played in various junior selections and showed excellent performances. After scoring 20 goals in 26 games in the U-19 team at the young age of 16 until February 2019, coach Sérgio Conceição let him train with the first team for the first time. In this 2018/19 season he won the national championship title with the juniors and also won the 2018/19 UEFA Youth League with a 3-1 final win against Chelsea . In this he did not score a goal, but with five goals he previously made a significant contribution to the final.
On August 10, 2019 (1st matchday) he made his debut in the top Portuguese division when he came on for Otávio in the 79th minute of the 1: 2 away defeat against Gil Vicente FC . On October 27th (8th matchday), Silva scored his first goal in a 3-0 home win against FC Famalicão shortly after being substituted on, making him the youngest league goal scorer in the club's history.
National team
Silva played five games for the Portuguese U-15 national team from April 25 to May 1, 2017, in which he scored three times. He then played for the U16s until April 2018, where he scored six goals in eight games.
He made his debut in the U-17 team in December 2017 and also took part in the 2019 U-17 European Championship in Ireland . There he scored one goal in four games.
He has been the Portuguese U19 international since September 2019 .
Private
Fábio Silvas is the son of the former soccer player Jorge Silva , who won the championship as a defensive midfielder in the 2000/01 season with Boavista Porto and played twice for the Portuguese national team in 2002 .
His older brother, who also goes by the name Jorge , plays in the youth team of Lazio .
