Renzo Saravia comes from the youth work of CA Belgrano , where he has been active since 2011. On May 4, 2013 (12th matchday) he made his debut in the top Argentine division , when he was in the 1-1 draw against CA Unión from the start on the field. In his first season 2012/13 he was used in 8 league games. After playing only five games in the following 2013/14 season, the full-back made his breakthrough in the Celeste starting lineup with 36 appearances in the 2014/15 season . In the following 2015/16 season he was pushed to the bench and was only used irregularly in the 2016/17 season.

After 73 appearances for Belgrano, in which he did not score, Saravia switched to league rivals Racing Club on July 14, 2017, initially on loan for one year . The Avellaneda club also secured an optional purchase option of one million euros for the defensive man. He started the 2017/18 season as a substitute behind the experienced Iván Pillud , but ousted him over the course of the season and became an undisputed regular player. Ultimately, he was used in 16 league games and Racing pulled the purchase option at the end of the season. He retained this status in the next season 2018/19, in which he played 21 league games and won the Argentine championship with his club.

For the 2019/20 season, Saravia moved to the Portuguese first division club FC Porto for a transfer fee of 5.5 million euros , where he signed a four-year contract. On August 13, 2019, he made his debut in a 3-2 home defeat against FK Krasnodar in qualifying for the UEFA Champions League , but was substituted on for Zé Luis in the 38th minute of the game . At the Dragões , however, he was only used in cup games and scored his first goal on December 5, 2019 in a 3-0 victory in the Taça da Liga against Casa Pia AC . On February 28, 2020, he moved to the Brazilian first division club Internacional Porto Alegre on loan until the end of the year .

National team

On September 8, 2018, Renzo Saravia made his debut in a 3-0 win in a friendly international match against Guatemala for the Argentine national team . His home country also took part in the 2019 Copa America in Brazil , where he played in two group matches.
