La Voz del Interior ( Spanish for The Voice of the Interior ) is an Argentine daily newspaper published in Córdoba .

The newspaper appears in the province of Cordoba , but can be obtained by subscription and in individual newspaper kiosks across the country. It ranks first in the region in terms of importance and in 2007 was the fourth most successful newspaper in Argentina, with an average circulation of 63,639 (with a maximum of 107,357 on Sundays), behind Clarín , La Nación and Diario Popular (all three from Buenos Aires ).

La Voz del Interior was founded on March 13, 1904 by Silvestre Rafael Remonda, whose family owned the company for a long time. In 1975 the printing works was assassinated, which destroyed a large part of the facility. However, she was able to recover from this setback and take the leading role in the province. In 1997 80% of the shares were transferred to the Compañía de Inversión en Medios de Comunicación (CIMECO) S. , in which the newspapers Clarín and La Nación from Buenos Aires and the Spanish group Vocento are involved. The remaining 20% ​​of the shares remained in the possession of the Remonda family.

Since 1998 the director of the newspaper Dr. Carlos Jornet. In 2007 and 2008 the Clarín Group acquired the shares in Vocento and La Nación and is now the newspaper's main shareholder with an 80 percent stake.

In April 2008, La Voz del Interior came under fire when the newspaper withdrew a contribution by journalist Enrique Lacolla , in which the latter played the role of Argentine commercial television, including that of the two main channels of the Clarín group ( Canal 13 and Todo Noticias ) criticized in a conflict between the Argentine government and the agricultural lobby. The newspaper also separated from Lacolla. This case of self-censorship was sharply criticized by the journalists' union Cispren , which is a member of the CTA association, and described as a “double act of censorship and intolerance”.

Since September 21, 1996, La Voz del Interior has also appeared on the Internet, initially under the name Intervoz , then as La Voz On Line under the domain lavoz.com.ar . The services offered also include the web portal Vos (until 2009 Córdoba.net ), which offers information on the cultural scene in the city of Córdoba and Argentina in general.
