Francisco das Chagas Soares dos Santos , (born January 17, 1991 in Sousa , Paraíba ), also known as Tiquinho Soares , is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a striker for the Portuguese club FC Porto .
Career
Soares was born in the municipality of Sousa ( Paraíba ) and grew up in Natal ( Rio Grande do Norte ). He started his career at Palmeiras das Rocas . After impressing with the team, he moved to América FC (RN) in 2009 , where he initially played as a youth. Soares made his professional debut for the latter club on August 14, 2010, playing as a substitute in a 2-1 home defeat in Série B against Vila Nova FC . After working at Botafogo FC (PB) and Sousa Esporte Clube , he finally moved to Centro Sportivo Paraibano . In the next few years he was awarded from here to 7 different lower class clubs.
In 2014 he moved to Nacional Funchal in Portugal as part of a two-year loan . He made his Primeira Liga debut for the club on February 21, replacing Lucas João in a 3-1 away defeat by Sporting Braga . At Nacional he was then able to rise to an important player.
On May 25, 2016, Tiquinho Soares signed a contract with Vitória Guimarães . He made his debut for his new side on August 14 in a 1-0 home loss to Sporting Braga, and scored his first goal 12 days later in a 5-3 win over Paços de Ferreira from a penalty kick.
On January 23, 2017, Tiquinho Soares signed a four and a half year contract with FC Porto with a release clause of over 40 million euros. His league debut came on February 4, when he was in the starting line-up and scored twice in a 2-1 home win over Sporting Lisbon .
