The Esporte Clube Pelotas is a football club from Pelotas in Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil . The club's nickname is “Lobão” (big wolf) and its home stadium is the “Boca do Lobo” (wolf's mouth).

history

EC Pelotas was created on October 11th, 1908 as a result of a merger of two older clubs. This makes it the oldest club in the city; its two local rivals Brasil de Pelotas and Grêmio Atlético Farroupilha were only founded after it. By winning the final against Gremio FBPA in 1930 the only national championship title to date could be won. In the late 20th century, the club was occasionally present in the lower divisions of the Brazilian championship. The last time he qualified together with rival Brasil de Pelotas for the Série D for the 2014 season. But while the rival made it to the Série C , EC Pelotas was eliminated from the national championship in the same year and relegated to the second division at state level .
