Romário Manuel Silva Baró (born January 25, 2000 in Bissau , Guinea-Bissau ) is a Portuguese football player who is currently under contract with the first division club FC Porto . He has also been with the Portugal U-21 international since September 2019 .
Career
society
Baró was in Guinea-Bissau born and came at the age of 11 years after Portugal , where he at the UA Povoense in Povoa de Santa Iria to the football games began. After quickly drawing attention there, he moved to Sporting Lisbon in 2012 . Two years later he moved on to the FC Porto youth academy . On January 21, 2018 he made his debut in the reserve team in the LigaPro in a 1-1 draw against FC Arouca . On March 18, he scored the first time for Porto B in a 3-0 home win against SC Covilhã . In this 2017/18 season , he played in ten league games and reached the 2017/18 UEFA Youth League final with the U19 team . In the following LigaPro 2018/19 he penetrated the starting line-up of the B-team and scored three goals and prepared two goals in 28 league games. In the 2018/19 UEFA Youth League , he scored six times in 10 games and provided four assists. The tournament could be won with a 3-1 victory against the U19 of Chelsea FC .
On August 7, 2019, he made his debut in a 1-0 away win against FK Krasnodar in the third qualifying round for the 2019/20 UEFA Champions League for the first team of FC Porto.
National team
From February to May 2016, Baró played eleven times for the Portuguese U16 national team , in which he scored three goals. He then played 15 games for the U17s . For the U18 he then completed an assignment in February 2018 and then played ten games for the U19 selection . He has been playing for the U21s since September 2019 .
Private
Romário Baró's older brother Anderson is also a soccer player, but has been without a club since July 2016.
