Vincent Paté Aboubakar (sometimes Vincent Aboubacar ; born January 22, 1992 in Yaoundé ) is a Cameroonian football player on the position of the striker . In the final of the Africa Cup 2017 , he scored the decisive 2-1 shortly before the end of regular time. This was the fifth time that Cameroon became African champions .
Career
society
Born in Yaoundé, the capital of Cameroon, Aboubakar began his active career as a football player with Cotonsport Garoua in Garoua , the third largest city in the country. There he went through several youth league classes until 2009 and finally came to the adult team of the club. In the same season he was with the team Cameroonian football champion, after the team had clearly dominated for large parts of the season and had the best offensive performance in the league.
Among other things, Tottenham Hotspur from England , AS Monaco and FC Valenciennes from France became aware of Aboubakar. As later became known, the young Cameroonian had been on the watch list of various Italian and Spanish clubs and was also courted by scouts of the Belgian champions RSC Anderlecht .
At the end of May 2010, the now 18-year-old Aboubakar decided to continue his career in France, where he was signed by Valenciennes FC from the northernmost region of France, Nord-Pas-de-Calais . In the northern French team, he was supposed to be part of the B team from July 2010 onwards and thus recommend himself to the professional team. After moving to FC Lorient in 2013 , he finished second on the list of goalscorers and moved to FC Porto for the 2014/15 season , where he received the number 99. For the 2016/17 season he was loaned to the Turkish first division club Beşiktaş Istanbul .
National team
First international experience garnered the young attackers in 2009, when he was in Cameroon's team , which at the U-17 African Cup of the year 2009 was used took part. In the competition, the team was eliminated in the group stage. In Group A, to which the eventual winner of the Gambia also belonged, the team only achieved one point and ended up in the last group place.
In May 2010 he was appointed by the French national coach of the Cameroonian national team, Paul Le Guen , to the 23-man squad of Cameroon , which took part in the 2010 World Cup. At the time of nomination, the 18-year-old was the only player in the squad who was active in Cameroon, the other players were all "legionnaires". Aboubakar's chances of playing at the World Cup in South Africa were very slim, as strikers like Samuel Eto'o , Mohamadou Idrissou , Pierre Webó , Achille Emana and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting were available in Cameroon's offensive .
For the first time in the senior national team of his native country, the offensive player was on May 25, 2010 in the World Cup preparatory game against Georgia in Linz , Austria . Four days later he was used in another test match against Slovakia in Klagenfurt in the first 67 minutes of the game and finally replaced by the more experienced German-born Marcel Ndjeng . The game against Slovakia, like the game against Georgia, ended in a draw. At the Africa Cup of Nations in 2017, he managed the decisive 2-1 win in the final against the Egyptian national soccer team, making them Africa champions in 2017.
