Coton Sport Football Club de Garoua is a football club from Cameroon . It is based in Garoua in the northern province . With thirteen championships, Cotonsport Garoua is Cameroon's record champion.
history
Since moving up to the Première Division in 1993, the club, founded in 1986, has developed into one of the most successful clubs in Cameroon. In 1994 the runner-up was immediately successful and the team also belonged to the top group in the following years. In 1997 he won the national championship for the first time and defended his title in the following season.
In 1999, Coton Sport was in the cup final for the first time, but had to admit defeat Canon Yaoundé 2-1. After two runner-up championships, the club finished the championship again in 2001 first. In 2002 Canon Yaoundé had to give way, but since 2003 it has won the title four times in a row. In addition, in 2003 and 2004 the double succeeded, as Sable FC were initially defeated 2-1 in the cup final and Union Douala 1-0 in the following season .
At the last playout of the CAF Cup in 2003, Coton Sport was in the final, but had to admit defeat to Raja Casablanca after a 2-0 defeat in the first leg and a 0-0 draw in their own place . In 2008 the team reached the final of the CAF Champions League , but lost there al Ahly Cairo .
