Alex Tchuimeni-Nimely (born May 11, 1991 in Monrovia ) is a Liberian - English football player . He plays for FC Honka Espoo in the Finnish Veikkausliiga .

Career

Tchuimeni-Nimely played in the youth team Barrack Young Controllers until 2005 , before moving to Mighty Barolle . During a long vacation with his grandmother in Cameroon, he was signed by the local club Cotonsport Garoua around 2006/07 . Tchuimeni-Nimely was the youngest player in the squad in the first round match of the CAF Champions League 2007 against Uganda Revenue Authority SC in front of 30,000 spectators and scored a goal in a 3-0 home win. An injury prevented the 15-year-old from further missions during his stay in Cameroon.

A short time later, he went to England to his father, a former basketball player at Dawson College in Canada , and completed trial training at Blackburn Rovers , Portsmouth FC and Manchester City . He finally received a four-year contract from Manchester City in January 2008 and initially played in the club's youth and reserve team, where he was a regular goalscorer. Nimely played his first game in the Premier League on April 3, 2010 in a 6-1 win over Burnley FC , after being substituted on for Carlos Tévez after 82 minutes . At the end of April 2010 he signed a new four-year contract.

On September 16, 2011, Manchester City loaned Nimely to Middlesbrough FC for three months . In the winter break of 2011/12 he was loaned to Coventry City until the end of the season.

In January 2013, Nimely was loaned to Crystal Palace until the end of the season. From June 2014 he was without a club. On January 27, 2014, he joined Port Vale FC and came there on a league assignment in the third-tier League One. He left Port Vale in the summer of 2015.

Until February 2016, Nimely had been without a club again before he joined the Romanian club ACS Poli Timișoara . In the summer of 2016 he finally moved to FC Viitorul Constanța . Since March 2017 he played for Stabæk IF in the Norwegian Tippeligaen until his contract was terminated in July 2017. He has been under contract with FC Honka Espoo in Finland since February 2018 .

National team

The former Liberian youth international took part in the 2009 Junior World Cup in Egypt with the English U-20 national team and scored the 1-1 equalizer in the last group game against Uzbekistan, which was also the only tournament goal in the English selection. In 2008 he received an invitation to the Liberian national team for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers , but turned down the offer with a view to a possible career in the English national team.
