Jean II Makoun (born May 29, 1983 in Yaoundé ) is a Cameroonian football player .

Career

society

The defensive midfielder comes from the youth department of Tonnerre Yaoundé , where he also played a few times in the first team. At the beginning of the 2001/02 season he moved to the second team of the Lille OSC .

After a season Makoun rose to the professional squad in Lille. In his first season he made ten appearances, and the Cameroonian has been a regular since 2002.

With the Cameroonian national team , Makoun took part in the 2004 and 2008 African Championships .

For the 2008/09 season he moved to the French series champion Olympique Lyon for an estimated 15 million euros .

During the winter break of the 2010/11 season Makoun moved to Aston Villa . In August 2011 he was loaned to the Greek record champions Olympiacos Piraeus until the end of the 2011/12 season.

For the 2015/16 season Makoun moved to the Turkish first division club Antalyaspor .

National team

In the decisive game against Tunisia to qualify for the World Cup in Brazil on November 17, 2013, he was used from the start. Makoun scored two goals in Cameroon's 4-1 win.
