Pierre Achille Webó Kouamo (born January 20, 1982 in Bafoussam ) is a former Cameroonian football player who also has Spanish nationality . He is the cousin of Geremi Njitap .

Player career

In the club

The Cameroonian Pierre Webó moved in 2000 to the Uruguayan top club Nacional Montevideo with whom he won two championship titles in the following two years. He moved to Europe in the summer of 2002 - to CD Leganés from the Spanish Segunda División . Although he only made seven appearances in his first season, those responsible at CA Osasuna recognized the talent of the young African, so he went to Pamplona in 2003 . After four years and u. a. after reaching the semi-finals against Sevilla FC in the 2006/07 UEFA Cup , Webó left his club in the summer of 2007 to join RCD Mallorca .

For the 2011/12 season, Webó's move to the Turkish Süper Lig to Eskişehirspor was announced. This change did not take place later due to disagreements. Instead, Webó moved after the failed transfer to Eskişehirspor to league rivals Istanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor . With the Istanbul team, he immediately established himself in the regular formation. With 15 goals this season, he was the most accurate player on his team and, along with three other players, second on the list of goalscorers for the 2011/12 season .

In the summer of 2012, several Turkish first division clubs expressed interest in signing Webó. However, all transfer efforts failed because of the excessively high transfer fee. Webó started the new season at Istanbul BB and scored nine goals in the first half of the season.

In search of another striker, Fenerbahçe Istanbul signed Webó for the 2012/13 winter transfer period. Webó signed a two and a half year contract. With the end of the contract in the summer of 2015, Webó received no contract extension from Fenerbahçe and then left this club after two and a half years of service.

After his departure from Fenerbahçe, he moved within the league to the newly promoted Osmanlıspor FK and played here until the summer of 2017. He was then committed for one season by the second division Gazişehir Gaziantep FK .

In September 2018 he left Turkey and continued his career at Nacional Montevideo.

National team

Pierre Webó has played for the Cameroonian national team since 2003 . For the national team, he scored a hat trick in the 3-2 win against Ivory Coast during qualifying for the 2006 World Cup in Germany .
