The Real de Banjul Football Club is a football club from Banjul , the capital of the West African state of Gambia . He plays in the GFA League First Division , the highest league in Gambian football, and last won the championship in the 2006/2007 season. This also secured a place in the CAF Confederation Cup 2009, in which the team will not be able to participate due to the limited financial resources.

The club qualified for the CAF Champions League in 1999, 2000 and 2001 .

Real de Banjul first appeared in the 1967/68 season, previously the team played under the name Benson and Hedges .
