history

After qualifying for the CAF Champions League in 2000 , the team also took part in the competition in 2007 , but was eliminated before the round of 16 against a Nigerian team.

The GPA first appeared in the 1973/74 season.

The team was trained until mid-May 2008 by Ebrima Cham Joof, called "Lukeh", who succeeded Alhaji Sarr in December 2007, whose two-year contract had expired. After a bad season, Chams was succeeded by Malamin Fofana, known as "Faraba" .
