The U-20 African Cup of 2011 is the 17th edition of the African Football Federation organized (CAF) tournament for junior national soccer teams (U-20) in Africa . The tournament was originally supposed to take place in Libya from March 18th to April 1st, but was initially postponed by the CAF on March 3rd due to the civil war in Libya . On March 17th, South Africa was announced as the new venue. The four semi-finalists qualified for the 2011 U-20 World Cup in Colombia.

In Libya, the June 11th Stadium in Tripoli and the March 28th Stadium in Benghazi were planned as venues. Substitute hosts South Africa played the games in Johannesburg at Dobsonville Stadium and Rand Stadium .
